We spoke with Jeff Wolfe, commercial real estate professional. Jeff has been in the industry for over a decade, and his practice ranges from commercial leasing to acquisitions and dispositions of all types of commercial real estate. We found out how a commercial real estate broker can help your business, the best way to connect to your community, and where to go to get the truth.
What is a commercial real estate broker?
A commercial real estate broker assists clients in researching properties, finding space to lease or a building to buy or sell (income producing properties), and negotiates the deal with the client’s needs always a priority.
When would someone come and seek your services?
A prospective client would use me when they are looking to relocate a current business, move out of a home office to a professional office, renew a lease at their current premises, expand or reduce square footage, or looking to buy or sell an income producing property.
What does community mean to you?
Community is about giving back and helping one another (we believe that good people, doing good things must stick together, too!). Assisting others in need is something I continually strive to do. (must be why we get along so well!)
What makes you feel like you’ve done a great job?
It is very fulfilling to me when I have a client that is happy with my work, and they have attained the space/building of their dreams at a reasonable price. It’s satisfying to give someone great, proper advice and work through all of the issues in an easy to understand, straightforward manner. (a great space to work in helps us all create meaningful work!)
What part of your job takes you out of your comfort zone?
Public speaking in large crowds is not my idea of fun. I much prefer working closely one-on-one with my clients, and it’s something I excel in. Up until recently, photoshoots were out of my comfort zone, but on my recent shoot I worked with Catherine Farquarson who put me at ease and made the process much more pleasant. (we love referring our clients to her, the results are amazing!)
Does marketing your business come naturally to you?
I have to say, working with you, Lisa, has made marketing my business so much easier for me. Instead of trying to push to do everything for me, you stressed the importance of understanding the ENTIRE process which led me to be able to do and enjoy many marketing tasks on my own. (thank you for allowing me the opportunity to bully you a little in the short term, for long term success!)
We love your new website. Was it a difficult and overwhelming project?
It was not an overwhelming project. After we spent the time together discussing what I was looking for, the roadmap you created for the project was easy to follow and execute. I appreciated that you were always available to give opinions (whether I asked or didn’t!) and explained everything in easy to understand language. Your no nonsense approach is extremely refreshing for me as I know you always have my best interests in mind. Most people I have worked with told me what I wanted to hear but you tell me the absolute truth! (much gratitude for embracing my unique honest approach : ))
Which is your favourite social platform to engage on?
Prior to working with you, I knew very little about Twitter. Since you pushed me to be more active on it, I have found amazing content which I enjoy reading and sharing on other social media platforms as well. In the past, I hired marketing people to manage my Twitter account. Now, I am able to navigate through Twitter and use the platform much more effectively on my own. (standing ovation!)
What do you want people to know about you as a commercial real estate agent most?
I have an interview on my site that answers frequently asked questions, and some other things that I felt would be important to share. Many have commented on how the insight into how I work, and my personality helped them in initially wanting to contact me.
