Traveling is definitely harder on our world than staying at home sweet home, but, if we maintain our healthier habits en route and away, we should enjoy and experience all we can. Travel is a true opportunity and gift, whether it is near or far from home, or for short or more extended periods of time.
For me, a vacation away is a much needed break from my everyday routine (and my desk). It lends me unstructured time with my family and friends (or for myself alone). It is a time of adventure and sleep, sunshine in the winter months, a refreshing opportunity to experience other places, cultures and views in our great world, find new inspiration, and if I’m lucky, is super recharging.
I’ve been sharing my conscious travel habits and resources for years. Like, how I stocked a minibar myself in Vegas, good eats I pack for my kids on school trips (and would pack for myself too), and my son’s well organized bag of instant fast food.
Here are a few posts + resources that I hope inspire you to travel “well”, and I look forward to having the opportunity to share more:
GREEN VACATION DESTINATIONS: If you are going to leave the country and head south, east, or west, make sure it’s worth it…here are a few places to visit to make it a true, “Bon Voyage”.

HOW TO GET FAR AWAY WITHOUT GOING FAR AWAY: Although it may seem impossible to take off sooner rather than later, there is sure to be a relaxing retreat not too far away to escape to for a mind, body, and soul rest + rejuvenation. For those in Toronto and the GTA, these gems are only a drive away.
HOW TO CREATE A FAMILY STAYCATION: If a big family getaway isn’t in the plans, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on making memories together, getting pampered or relieving stress. Creating your own spa staycation can bring you all of those benefits (without the hassles of travel!).
SAFE SUN: We’re past the days of laying out in the sun unprotected. Have fun, stay safe, cover up, and use natural sunscreens and lotions that will keep your family and local lake chemical-free.
