2019 has been a year full of “impossible to believe it’s possible” politics and insanity, extreme weather, sexism, forest fires, losses, racism, terrorism, and on most days, something or some things to be truly outraged about that hit us in real or virtual life. BUT…at the same time, it was a year (even a decade) of impeaching the toxic and celebrating the activists and whistle blowers, the inspiring businesses, the organic growth in the “kind food” sector, the heroes and helpers, and a year of love, laughter, creativity, care and a commitment to doing better.
While there is infinite work for us, and progress to make, if we make the effort individually and collectively, we can accomplish so much.
We simply need to start where we are and keep doing better. Keeping our minds wide open is critical. We can all learn to listen more. It is vital that we honour ourselves, authentically so.
All of this will lead to self-empowerment over complacency – in all areas of our lives… everything we do everyday. Change isn’t easy, but it’s so worth it… we believe it’s essential.
We shouldn’t wait for a crisis to pivot… now is the time. There are no easy answers or shortcuts, and simply reading or talking about something will not result in change… taking action does. We love sharing our hacks and resources as we learn… as you know, we take pride around here in efficient strategies and healthy results. We love a process full of failure and frustration because that’s what brings about growth and healthy change. As we set out on our 2020 projects (thanks to so many of you), whether we’re putting in tiny efforts or undertaking massively meaningful projects, we look forward to persevering together, especially when things get really challenging.
