Not technically a colour, black is the absence of colour. It is powerful and represents strength, seriousness, authority, and the unknown … it is formal, mysterious, and prestigious. Black can evoke strong emotion and can be overwhelming at times. We associate black with challenging your mind and body … it boosts confidence, increases your sense of potential and possibility, and produces feelings of composure, elegance, and refinement.
This is your opportunity to connect with the colour’s beauty, health, and diversity in our shared world …expand the foods you nourish yourself with and get out into nature … colour is an amazing guide!
The Black Challenge:
Eat something black.
Try wild rice, pepper, garlic, currants, sesame seeds, chia, raspberries, beans, olives, or figs. What is your favourite black food? Can you try something new? How do black foods make you feel? Did you know black foods are anti-inflammatory? Do you eat a rainbow every day?
Connect to something in nature that is black.
The night sky, ants, crows, bees, butterflies, dragonflies, or soil… look around. When you go outside, are you conscious of all that surrounds you? Does it take you to a place of awe and wonder? What is nature gifting you today?
