Every week we feature one good human from TWIC. This week’s member highlight is Sven Segal … he is the kind of good human that can mentor us all in being a good entrepreneur … not a “greenwasher” but someone who is about fairness and transparency … all about what we term as “Empathy Economics“. Sven, who lives in the UK, became a shoe designer after a stint in architecture and photography. After a decade of working as a designer for various shoe brands and uncovering the ‘dark side’ of this vastly wasteful, exploitative, and polluting industry, he founded his own shoe brand which then led him to create The Better Shoes Foundation (2016). His goal is to have this be the go-to resource for anyone in the industry seeking inspiration or guidance on how to minimize harmful practices and fast-track sustainable development. Shouldn’t we all want to wear kind footwear? I first connected with Sven in 2009 on a quest to find healthy shoes … I found the footwear and a fellow entrepreneur and friend.
