The Shower UnMediation is simple but will feel so good and can be “stacked” so easily into your day. It doesn’t even need to extend your shower time! Being intentional, especially in the shower where you have to be present (and most often alone!) can be extremely empowering and peace-inducing. Changing your perspective about showering and taking it from being a task to it being a cleansing practice that releases everyone else’s expectations of you and has you investing in your energy … in yourself, can be life sustaining!
The Shower UnMeditation is a small series of affirmations done while you shower. An affirmation is a short and powerful statement that you say to yourself in order to reinforce your belief and behaviour. If you have been practicing with us for sometime, you will be aware that if you repeat “I am worthy” to yourself every morning (in the mirror or not), you’re likely feeling better equipped leading your days from a place of confidence and empowerment. And, just like affirmations can help you access positivity and a mindset for self-improvement and self-love, they can also serve you in helping you to release that which doesn’t serve you. The Shower UnMeditation is powerful because it can help you cleanse yourself of unwanted energy (as the water is literally cleansing you) … and you can “stack it” right into your shower time.
Perhaps you want to snap out of a funk you may be feeling or wake yourself up and start a fresh new day with intention, showers require us to be present (think about it!) and in this moment, reciting shower affirmations is a form of UnMeditaton … it gives you the opportunity to really engage with the now instead of mulling over the past or the worry! Whether or not you believe in energy in the magical or spiritual sense, you can benefit from carving out time in your day to slow down, embrace the moment, and harness the power of water and alone time!
