Every week we feature a good human from TWIC. This week’s member highlight is Monique Chan … Monique is on a mission to revolutionize our food systems (thank you, Monique!). She is the Founder of Bruized where she creates wholesome plant-based “granola”, cookies, and limited edition products from up-cycled ingredients and imperfect produce that are unnecessarily discarded across the supply chain. So much food goes to waste, and instead of being thrown out for being ugly or having a surplus, Monique turns it into deliciousness. Monique has spent a lot of time around food and farmers’ markets … over the years, I have had the good fortune of having many conversations while she has been selling (proudly with a smile) green smoothies, pretzel bagels, sweet onions, tomatoes and more, until now when she has her own table!
