Do you drink alcohol?
Like everything else, we’re not going to say that you should or shouldn’t … we have a strict no “shoulding” rule in TWIC … you are always your own best expert. We enjoy “spirits” in the right mindset and setting, but …
Not All Spirits Are Created Equal
Just like conventional food, most alcohol is loaded with pesticide residues, synthetic ingredients, and preservatives. Fortunately, whether you’re a social drinker, a celebratory sipper, or enjoy an occasional sunset toast, there are many better options (and the list is growing). When buying and drinking “better” bottles, you can refer to them as “spirits” … the spirit of the plant. Spirits are not only better for you, but you will be supporting better businesses, who care about environmental health as well as human health. No, we aren’t saying drinking spirits is healthy, but “Kind” brands do really care and are doing something without the added toxicity … and with a care for our shared soil. And our soil is LIFE. Apply your Empathy Economics questions when choosing your next bottle, and feel good about all your decisions … the ones for yourself and also for what you serve to others. That’s something we can all agree to raise our glass to! If you’re at a restaurant, ask for what you want, and don’t drink if they can’t provide … think of how quickly a restaurant might include better choices if that is how they will serve you!
