Every week we feature a good human from TWIC. This week’s member highlight is Tenille Hoogland … Tenille is the founder and Head Coach of Elements Sports Coaching based in British Columbia, Canada. She is a ball of good (and fierce) energy. Tenille has built a business committed to empowering female athletes to fulfill their athletic goals and to play to their best. Prior to coaching full-time, Tenille led Age Group Team Canada to International Triathlon Union World Championship events, organized IRONMAN events and even worked on the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Federal Secretariat. Yes, she is a sport! She competed as an elite/professional and sponsored triathlete from 2007-2013 earning titles in both short distance (ITU Pan-American Cup Champion) and long distance triathlon (2 x 70.3 IRONMAN Champion). Now, Tenille keeps fit and strong in many ways including chasing her two young sons on bike and foot, and running Project 51, a group-based program integrating mindset, nutrition, training and recovery practices so you can thrive in perimenopause and beyond! I was honoured that Tenille invited me to speak at her Perimenopause for Athletes Summit in the fall of 2022 … it was there that I knew that we had to share some of her amazing story with you. Enjoy her interview … and when done, try the 3-Way Squat that Tenille teaches in The Exercise Snack Studio … it is perfect for building strength and power. And Tenille is definitely someone we can all learn about strength and power from!
